Darkspace is a unit that has a singular and coherent vision, and has maintained this vision from its outset. Each new work is a further articulation and an expansion upon this ultimate vision, adding to the musical canon of one of the finest acts in black metal today. In Dark Space III is found the most incisive, varied, and expressive movement thus far in their increasingly ambitious body of work. After meandering perhaps a bit too much in the previous chapter, their current last word is also the word that rings the loudest and most clear above the cacophonous mob that is the current black metal landscape. The production more acutely stresses each aspect of the music, a favorable alteration from past works, helping the band to maintain a forward progression in their collective voice while remaining constant to their artistic expression that they have championed from the outset while not growing stagnant.
